Introduction
Inflection lists short up-or-down markets on assets like Bitcoin, crude oil and Nvidia. Each market asks whether the price will be higher at the end of a window, one or five minutes long, than at the start. The API lets your own code read those markets and trade them.
Inflection runs on a testnet. Your account holds test USDC in a vault contract on Base Sepolia. Test USDC has no real value. In the app, you sign in with an email through Privy, which gives you a wallet. The app pays the gas for the transactions that wallet sends.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”- Read markets. List them, look one up, and hear when they open and settle. No key needed.
- Watch order books and trades. Subscribe to the markets you want, and get their books, trades and status live over a WebSocket. Read history over HTTP. No key needed.
- Trade. Place, change and cancel orders over a WebSocket, and hear each fill as it happens. Needs an API key, and a session key to sign each order.
- Read your account. Balance, positions, fills and profit and loss. Needs an API key.

Where to start
Section titled “Where to start”- How it works: how a market runs, where your money is, and how a trading system connects.
- Market data: list markets, watch books and trades, and read history, with no key.
- API keys: how a key signs a request.
- Signing orders: make a session key and sign each order.
- Your first order: place an order and cancel it.
Then read Units and prices before you trade: prices, quantities and money are all whole numbers, and each has its own unit.
